Why I became a BeachBody Coach

So for a past assignment It was mentioned that it would be interesting to find out how I became a BeachBody Coach. So I've decided that I will explain it for this assignment. So Here it goes:

When I was younger I was in great shape. I played all kinds of sports and my passion was wrestling and Jiu Jitsu. I did that growing up and through most of my twenties. Around 25 I started coaching the high school wrestling team and teaching some Jiu Jitsu at the place I used to go too. I was in the greatest shape of my life. Then I had some life events happen that caused me to get depressed and unmotivated. I lost my passion for everything basically.

Years of this went on and I ballooned from 175 lbs of muscle to 290 lbs of unmotivated flab. I hated myself and couldn't stand to do anything or be around anyone. Then one day I met my wife. I dated her in high school so we really knew each other well and she said she could tell something changed in me. We began dating again and I started to slowly do things to get back in shape and I ended up losing about 50 lbs. I started to feel good again about myself and she noticed the change too, but well when you get in a new relationship things stop getting exciting and all you begin to do is eat out and sit around and watch TV all the time.

One day I was watching infomercials late at night while eating a taco from Taco Bell and P90x came on. I was amazed and wanted to look like that again. It looked like some of the workouts I used to do so I ended up getting a copy. I did the workouts for a month and lost some weight but stopped doing it. A couple years go by and I managed to get down to about 220 but I wasn't where I wanted to be. Then I saw another infomercial for INSANITY. Same situation I got a copy and started doing the workouts. Same situation I gave up after a month.

While I was doing my INSANITY workouts I was talking to someone who called themself an Independent Team BeachBody Coach, and they invited me to an online accountability group on Facebook. I was able to get all kinds of support and motivation but I just didn't have the drive yet.

The beginning of this year I told my wife I am going to get in shape if it Kills me. I am going to get back to where I was when I was younger. Maybe not as skinny but healthier. I decided I wanted to give BeachBody another chance because the workouts did work for me I just didn't commit to doing them all the way through. I also wanted to help other people who went through the same situation I went through and needed an extra push or some extra motivation. I decided I was going to become a coach so I could stay accountable for myself and so I could try to help other people the way my coach helped me. It's been 3 weeks now that I started with a new program called T25 and I've lost a few lbs but I have lost a few inches as well.

Here is a picture from When I started to 3 weeks later.

USA in the Olympics

USA Hockey is kicking butt in the Olympics. They just beat Russia and From the last I heard they just won their next game moving on in the tournament. I haven't had a chance to watch any of the games because of my work schedule but it has been great listening to all of the Americans bringing home medals. I'm hoping I can get some time in the next few days to actually sit and watch some of the events.

Shawn(sp) White unfortunately didn't do so well from what I heard. I was able to catch a glimpse of him and I though he looked great but I was informed that he didn't take home any medals. Maybe next time buddy. I still think you rock.

Why I like Analytical Tools

So about a week before this class started I signed up to be a BeachBody Coach because I wanted to help other people get in better shape and because I wanted to share my success with others. In that time I was just putting random posts out on Facebook and just talking about random stuff on my other blog. Since taking this class I've realized that I wasn't making much of an impact. I was able to set up analytics for most of my Social Media Platforms after we discussed how to do it in this class. I was shocked to realize that I was barely getting anybody to view my Facebook or my blog. Now I was able to refocus what I was doing and I was able to see that with a few tweaks here and there I am now getting seen more by other people. My Facebook page has reached almost 2000 people and I have almost 100  likes in just two days.

I have also used these techniques to gauge how well my other page is doing that I set up for my lawn care business. It is just amazing how having these tools can help someone figure out how to reach a specific market of people.

My kids love popcorn

This is a photo of my two youngest children. This was a night my wife bought me a popcorn maker for my birthday. I was excited to get the popcorn maker but my two youngest kids were super excited. They couldn't wait to get some fresh made popcorn. I chose this photo because I thought that it was a great time spent that night with my family and I felt that it was appropriate for this class because whether we know it or not our decisions in life will ultimately affect our families, such as taking this course to better ourselves.

This class causes home issues

So my wife thinks I'm just playing on the internet all day because I've signed up for so many social sites. It will be interesting when we get into Facebook. There isn't really any issues. It was just funny because she didn't know what the class is about.

New to most Social Media platforms

So I've created my first blog I think. I'm new to all of these. I have used Facebook and just barely used twitter. I'm hoping to get a good grasp of this class. It seems a little overwhelming right now. Trying to set up all these accounts and make sure I post them properly. I'm sure in a couple of weeks it will be a piece of cake.
